This fact is based on the false information that the CUC will be withdrawn from circulation in the coming days, as part of the monetary unification process.

The Central Bank of Cuba informs that the CUC will continue in circulation until such time as its withdrawal is decided as part of the monetary unification process, when it will be officially communicated.

The date for the beginning of the monetary unification process has not been defined. Likewise, the permanence of the Cuban peso exchange rate in 24 CUP X 1 CUC for the convertible peso sales operations (CUC) by the population to banks and CADECA is ratified.

In the Central Report to the VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, the decision to guarantee deposits in bank accounts in foreign currencies, convertible pesos (CUC) and Cuban pesos (CUP), as well as cash in hand was ratified once again of the population.
